Sclerotherapy involves using a chemical solution directly into the varicose or spider vein. The solution causes the vein walls to swell, stick together and seal shut, stopping the flow of blood. As a result, the vein fades within a few weeks.

Downtime
You can carry on with normal daily activities, avoiding exercise for a short time.
Frequency
Three treatments may be required 6 weeks apart.
Procedure time
1-1.5 hours per treatment.
Some discomfort is felt for a very short time, redness, irritation and bruising is expected. Support tights/stockings are required for 48 hours post treatment.
